I am beyond excited to share the incredible experience we had during our Christmas gift-giving event for the Boys & Girls Club. This holiday season was extra special because we were able to provide a little extra pixie dust for children in the community of Harlingen, Texas.
This community is particularly special to me because when I was six years old, I lived in this exact community and my brother, Dan, and I, we had nothing. It was Hilda and her husband Gerald, of the Boys & Girls Club who made sure that kids like me had something for Christmas. Their kindness left a lasting impact on me, and it’s something I’ll never forget.
Since we launched Enchanted Fairies, our mission has been to give back, inspired by people like Hilda and the Boys and Girls Club. This event was a full circle moment for us and seeing the smiles and magic created filled my heart with overwhelming love & joy.
We decided to surprise ALL 330 kids served by the Boys and Girls Club of Harlingen with Christmas gifts. Our goal was to personally shop and hand-deliver each one, and we were thrilled to have Hilda from the Boys and Girls Club join us. Although the gifts weren’t the only surprise we had……little did Hilda know, that she was about to receive a $50,000 donation for the club!
To keep the surprise, we had to act fast. With our volunteer team limited on time, we had just one hour to shop at Target for all the gifts. We managed to get everything we needed and headed back to the Boys and Girls Club to wrap the gifts.
Santa Claus made an appearance along with the Magical Winter Fairy, adding to the enchantment of the evening! Seeing the joy on the faces of the children participating in these holiday traditions was truly heartwarming.
But the biggest moment of all was when we presented Hilda with the $50,000 donation. It was such an emotional moment for me, as I reflected on the impact Hilda and the Boys and Girls Club had on my family and how that kindness has created a ripple effect in the world.
Boys and Girls Clubs provide a safe place for millions of youth each year, allowing them to discover their great futures. It was an honor to give back to an organization that has done so much for communities like ours.
This event was a true reflection of what Dan and I have dedicated our lives to doing, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
